This Sunday 29 April is a historical day for the Houghton Districts Football Club.
HDFCs first ever Under 8s Junior team will take to the hallowed turf at Houghton Memorial Oval for their first game of the 2018 season. The concept to introduce Juniors into the fold was the brainchild of former Senior player, KB Lovell. With twins in the Under 8s category, KB was already part the way there! But it didn't take long for the Raider juggernaut to snag more participants. KB has been hard at it for the better part of six months, whipping the Junior Raiders Machine into action. His boundless enthusiasm and passion is something to behold, and characteristic of the Raider spirit. But KB hasn't done it alone. Jane Schulz has been a magnificent addition to the Club's Committee and graciously offered her services to assist KB with the Junior Operations. Jane's unwavering commitment to fundraise and organise is inspirational, and our Club is fortunate to have her part of our Operations team. So, rather than sleep in this Sunday morning, head up the hill to witness Raider history. Game kicks off at 9am. Canteen will be open. And the sun will be out! See you there!
